-If you have left-over chicken from a meal the night before, a salad like this is a great use for it.
-Rather than using mayonnaise alone for the dressing, it is better to have predominantly plain yoghurt or tatziki (yoghurt dip) and add a little mayonnaise if you particularly like it. Fermented dairy products, such as yoghurt contain selected strains of bacteria that could be used to treat diarrhea and other gastrointestinal disorders.
-Walnuts contain protein and are a source of omega 3 fats. Walnuts have even been found to help lower blood cholesterol more than oily fish.
-Vinegar or lemon juice, being acids, lower the GI of the whole meal, increase satiety (sense of fullness) and may reduce blood cholesterol
